Re: I was there - 14 years ago
I believe it was in 1997. Friday evening session, super stock class. They were hooking on the grandstand track. What's ironic is that there was a live TV unlimited mod class on the other track. For 2 years in a row, TNN taped a live 2 hour show. I may be wrong about this detail, but I believe this may have been the debut of the modern incarnation of Just Add Dirt (it was at one of thby The Original Michael - Forum
2 Historical Missouri tractor pulling questions - 14 years ago
1) When did they start pulling at the Missouri State Fair? What was it like there in the beginning? Was it a big pull right off the bat, or did it take a few years to become a big pull? 2) There are pics of Molines in the 1970's thread. There is another Moline puller from Missouri that I wonder about. Does anyone know whatever became of the Wiss family from Hawk Point? They used tby The Original Michael - Forum

Does anyone have old Louisville photos? - 14 years ago
Does anyone have old Louisville photos from the say, the beginning back in 1969 to 1980? It would be neat if someone could scan them and post them online. I would especially be interested in pics of the heavy SS classes from that era. thanksby The Original Michael - Forum

These are separate ideas. #1) Here's a down-the-road idea- instead of creating a new class from scratch, just allow this combination into the current SF class. You pick either set of rules (no gray areas either... either run strictly the 9300 SF rules as they stand, or the 8500 whatever it's called rules). This would create a bit of variety, and instead of having another differentby The Original Michael - Forum
Re: for 007 - 14 years ago
The original post did not mention OSTPA. PPL scheduled an event over their own member state, Empire State Pullers, or ESP, who have had an event at Pike, NY that is (I believe) only 30 or 40 miles away from Hamburg. Pike has had a state pull that same weekend for years. PPL had to have been aware of this.by The Original Michael - Forum

BG, Hamburg, & Pike: How were the crowds? - 14 years ago
I didn't make it to BG this year (plan to next year), but how were the crowds at the 3 pulls involved in the scheduling issue? How was Hamburg's crowd on Friday? Did Pike's attendance suffer? Was BG down, about the same, or up in attendance this year?by The Original Michael - Forum
NYTPA rules question - 14 years ago
Does the NYTPA FWD class use a 650 ci limit, or the lower limit used by the Central NY truck group?by The Original Michael - Forum
Re: You are correct, sir - 14 years ago
PPL chose this. Another poster mentioned Hamburg moving the date of their fair, but the sanctioning body has ultimate control over whether they will/won't sanction a pull on a given date. There are numerous promotors who have wanted an NTPA GN pull on a certain date, but were told "no" because those dates were already taken by other pulls.by The Original Michael - Forum

Which Unlimited SS will be at Wisner? - 14 years ago
With all the talk about BG and Hamburg, who will be the alkies at Wisner? Haugs? They are running for PPL points and I'd think will be at Hamburg? Dennis Johnson? He's too heavy to make the Outlaw weight, or so I've been told. Brent Long? Will he travel to Wisner? Region III tractors? They have a state hook in Wisconsin. I can maybe see Marinos and Mean Moline. Thatby The Original Michael - Forum
Re: lesson for Buckeye - 14 years ago
Please name specifically which PPL events El Nino has hooked at this year. If you go to midsouthpullers.com, (which is an NTPA member state), and look at results, you will find him at almost every Mid South PS hook this year. Please tell us on what basis you are saying El Nino is a PPL tractor. This should be more entertaining than Obama trying to tell us the Healthcare plan doesn't saby The Original Michael - Forum

Re: Should NTPA change or drop the Super Semi class? - 14 years ago
Terry, I was using a super/pro stock tractor comparison to illustrate that when the rules allow, a TRUE pro stock can be very competitive with a super stock diesel, just in the same manner that out east, Laribee and other TRUE pro stock semis can run with (and have won) Super Semi/Big Rig/Hot Rod semi classes. Also, if you look at last year's Tomah results, there were no Minnesota guys (eby The Original Michael - Forum
Re: Should NTPA change or drop the Super Semi class? - 14 years ago
Ok, then it's a Limited Pro Stock semi, not a Super Farm Semi. My point remains- as a comparison, look at the East Coast tractor series. They have a class where their supers and pro stocks run together successfully. They also have lots of limited pros (or mod turbos as they call them)... those guys don't run in the super/pro class. They just can't compete. Same deal with thby The Original Michael - Forum
Should NTPA change or drop the Super Semi class? - 14 years ago
There is a thread on the other board where the poster states the Hibbetts stable will not be running this year (or he asks that). Should NTPA consider changing or dropping it's Super Semi division? Here is my 2 cents worth- at Bowling Green and a couple other pulls, they are good. However, I think the powers that be messed up when they basically made their growing Pro Stock semi divby The Original Michael - Forum
