Re: New OPINION Article - Levels of cheating - 13 years ago
Jake, I have not read all the replies to this thread so sorry if this has already been stated. I'm a Christian too, and it saddens me to see accusations thrown around. I agree cheating is cheating and deserves punishment. I will make one distinction regarding cheating.... and I don't mean that penalties aren't justified either way. NTPA's Light Pro Stock class: Brilliant move - 13 years ago
no sarcasm, it was a great move. Despite people criticizing a few of the rules, in it's second year of existence, as of the most recent NTPA website update, it appears to be developing into what NTPA hoped it would be (hint Bowling Green- you may want to find room for this class in your schedule). As of today, at least according to the NTPA website, here are the drivers who (I believe)by The Original Michael - Forum
Nebraska Bush pullers/Outlaws U/SS question - 13 years ago
I know sometimes in the pulling world, with different organizations having different rules, a class that goes by one name in one organization can have a different meaning in another organization. For example, NTPA Open Supers and PPL Unlimited Supers are pretty much the same thing. Outlaws Unlimited Supers run a low enough weight that it's not exactly the same thing. I have a question aby The Original Michael - Forum

Partial list of new faces pulling in NTPA in 2011 - 13 years ago
If I'm reading the list correctly, here is a list of new (or returning) faces coming to an NTPA track near you in 2011 courtesy of accidently stumbling across an unexpected treasure trove of drivers listed on the NTPA website. First, (again, if I'm reading correctly)- Grand National licensed pullers (some of these aren't new, just new GN licensees for 2011) in no particular ordby The Original Michael - Forum
Re: Outlaws to offer Super Farm Semi class - 13 years ago
Quotebuilder There should be more common sense turbo rules for PS semi than "any turbo". (NTPA) I think there should be some correlation between the diesel rules for tractors and semis. IE- a "super stock" tractor and a true "super" semi = multi chargers. A "pro stock" tractor and a true "pro stock" semi = one charger, any size. I jokingly called this new class "super farm semi" because oby The Original Michael - Forum
Outlaws to offer Super Farm Semi class - 13 years ago
This is coming from the perspective of someone who would like to see unified pulling rules. I guess instead of Super Farm Semi, it may instead be called Limited Pro Stock Semi (or Light Pro Stock Semi, lol) because in my view that's what they will be. OSTPA and ITPA have to me what are the best Pro Stock Semi rules (I would prefer Minnesota adopt the same turbo rules but at least wheby The Original Michael - Forum
Guest editorial: New NTPA rule suggestion (better safe than sorry) - 13 years ago
Before making my suggestion, let me say that 1) I do not like over-reacting to things, and 2) the NTPA rulebook has more than enough rules, in some cases maybe too many. However, that said, after seeing the accident at Gordyville in the LSS class on Friday, seeing the rear tire bouncing down the track at 30-40 mph, just missing the track crew and spectators, and bouncing over the sand pile andby The Original Michael - Forum
Historical pulling question - 13 years ago
If the Allison team had the first allison tractors, who had the second? I remember as a really young lad going to a big pull in Terre Haute, IN in '73 or '74. I don't remember much except Ralph Chamberlain was there. So, who had the second allison tractor? Chamberlain? Dave Haley? The Judge Team? Jerry Gerdes? Someone else? Also, what year did others besides the Allison Tby The Original Michael - Forum
YOUR U.S. Gov't Beaurocrats at work. Will this affect pulling? - 13 years ago
EPA moving unilaterally to limit greenhouse gases When people start seeing their costs of living skyrocket over the next few years, that will sure help Obama's re-election chances. Regardless of your political beliefs, this is an example of unelected beaurocrats making decisions that will wind up costing every man, woman, and child lots of $. I hope Texas sticks to their guns. Here is my opinion - 13 years ago
1). NTPA should drop Essex Junction unless the promotor is willing to make it a 2 day event (which is unlikely). Too far to drive for most people for one hook. 2). Probably the best option for Essex Junction is to become an NYTPA event. They would draw tractors from Syracuse, and perhaps even a few ESP guys since there is not a Labor Day pull. 3). Regarding numbers,- I don't knowby The Original Michael - Forum
Who's super stocks are these? - 13 years ago
D-21 Also, is this tractor actually a pro stock? I'm curious how many turbos it is running. IH w/Silver Side Shields Maxxforce I recognize the other 3 SS tractors at Corcoran as the Peterson/Barfnecht tractor, Jeff Rose, and Guy Blechinger.by The Original Michael - Forum

I saw him win Indiana State Fair - 13 years ago
It was either in '79 or '80 (I think). They had about 30 or so in the 12,000 SS class. Berry won in a 4 way pulloff over John Lancaster's AC 210, and 2 IHs but I cannot remember who they were. They also televised it and showed on the local WTTV Channel 4 station.by The Original Michael - Forum
Historical NY modified question: Wayne Clark's "Thumper" - 13 years ago
Before Wayne Clark sold Thumper to Tom Durfee, did he ever have 3 allisons on it back in the 9200 lb days? If so, does anyone know what years it ran 3? If so, is there a photo of it anywhere? And while we're talking about east coast allisons, I remember seeing a guy named Bob Dabrowski run on the old NTPA Pro National circuit. He ran a twin allison. Re: BG vs. Winser vs. Hamgberg - 13 years ago
This is only my opinion (and I admit a pro-NTPA bias )- If I could wave a magic wand, Wisner would be on a different weekend (like the weekend of the 14th this year). If they could get rid of the guard rails and get concrete barriers, it would make a great NTPA Super National event (my understanding is that the Wisner promotors almost signed with NTPA this year). Re: Unlimited Mods at Wisner - 13 years ago
There is only one organization that runs unlimited mods, and it isn't Outlaws. Personally, I would love to see Wisner as an NTPA GN (or Super National event), but on a different weekend. This weekend (on Friday/Saturday) would be perfect. Then the Missouri guys could still make the MO State Fair on Sun/Mon; and the IA State Fair to Wednesday, and still run at Bowling Green I know thaby The Original Michael - Forum

Re: Basket Case and NTPA??? - 13 years ago
I know Basket Case does run with NTPA, but if did.... Would the tractor be legal for the NTPA LSS class, or does he have an engine larger than 505 or a hemi head/overhead cam where he would have to run in the NTPA (or PPL) heavy SS open/USS class? Thanksby The Original Michael - Forum
Modified question for old timers (early '70s) - 13 years ago
Who had the top 12,000 modified in the early '70s? Was it Bosse Bros? Ralph Chamberlain? Lloyd McVey? Arfons or the Judge (though I tend to think of them as coming into their own in the mid '70s instead of the early '70s)? Were there some really good ones from that era that deserve to be mentioned? btw- one other question. Out of curiosity, which tractors ran tank motorsby The Original Michael - Forum

Attention: Wisconsin Light Pro Stock pullers - 13 years ago
I do not know if the WTPA event that weekend is running your class as exhibition, but if not.... Please consider coming to Ft. Recovery, OH for the NTPA Grand National pull on July 30 and 31. They are running the light pros both nights, so it would be 2 hooks for the trip. It would be great to see how the Wisconsin light pros stack up against the Region II light pros. ? for Farm Stock pullers - 13 years ago
I know that at least in Indiana, there are pro farms that will sometime pull in "farm stock" classes. My question is: at what speed limit does a regular farm stock tractor have a realistic chance against a pro farm? 8 mph? 10 mph? 12 mph? thanks for clarifying.by The Original Michael - Forum
