Re: NTPA Historical Question - 12 years ago
I was just a kid back then, but still have the Puller Magazines going back to 1975 (saved 'em). Prior to 1977, there was no regional system set up. Pulls were simply Class A, B, or C, I believe based on purse level. I do not know if a Class A pull gave more points than a Class B pull. If a puller wanted to compete for a national title, he had to go pulling down south in February and Maby The Original Michael - Forum

Wouldn't it be awesome @ Bowling Green if..... - 12 years ago
One of these years, maybe to kick off the Saturday night session, they could have 8-10 vintage mods in a 9000 (or 12000) mod class? To make it work, they may need to drape some tarps over the NTPA banners and have non-NTPA personnel handle the flagging duties (due to insurance and rules issues). This year, they had Lloyd McVey's Super Banana, one of the Allison Team tractors, the City Slby The Original Michael - Forum

* I don't know if Keith Horst is the permanent driver for Youngblood Unleashed, but I were Mr. Shramek, I'd seriously consider putting him in the driver's seat any time I could. He is very good on that tractor. * Was this the first event in NTPA history where the Unlimited Mods had 2 first time winners in the same weekend? * Bollinger's first pass on Saturday was impby The Original Michael - Forum

Just curious. What's he got under the hood of his 2 Deeres? Cubes? Does he run an overhead cam? In the NTPA or PPL world, would his tractors be legal LSS tractors or have to run in the USS class?by The Original Michael - Forum

Sunday, July 10 - 12 years ago
The fairgrounds is about 5 minutes from I-65. Get off at exit 68, go east. When you get to the light, turn south (right), not sure of distance but I'd say it's less than 2 miles, will be to your right (east) of highway.by The Original Michael - Forum

I think you may be confusing the Bad Kitty Oliver super farm from Iowa, which to my knowledge has always been a super farm, with Kevin Taylor's Bad Kitty Agco/White PS from Canada.by The Original Michael - Forum

How many Haier Cockshutts are there, and what class are they really (ie- I know a couple of them can run ESP Light SS, but are they really LLSS tractors running LSS, or Super Farms, etc)? Are any of them legit multi-turbo super stocks? Thanksby The Original Michael - Forum
Farm stock pullers in Kentucky (Invitation to Indiana pull) - 12 years ago
I'd like to invite you bluegrass residents to the Bartholomew Co. Fair pull in Columbus, IN on Sunday July 10 at 6:30 PM. The fairgrounds are about 5 minutes away from I-65, making it an easy trip. The 4 classes are: 11,500 lb 10mph 11,500 open (No 5020/6030) 13,000 lb 12mph 13,000 open There has been some controversy when Kentucky pullers have come to Indiana for farm stock pby The Original Michael - Forum

NTPA website: What is this (for computer savvy people) - 12 years ago
I tried logging onto ntpapull.com and got the error message below. I was able to get on PPL and every other site I tried. For those of you who are computer savvy, what does this error mean? Could it have something to do with NTPA overextending their server or bandwidth capacity? Re: Can of worms (Stock fuels) - 13 years ago
I agree. Variances and/or grandfathering is bad rulemaking. I heard that when there was controversy about Shagnasty once, Dennis Johnson said "it's either legal or it isn't." I couldn't agree more. That said, one thing I've advocated both here and on Fonda's board more than once is getting rid of the grandfather clause in NTPA for 2 vehicles- the super farm of Markby The Original Michael - Forum
Re: NTPA Unlimited Precommits list - 13 years ago
According to the NTPA website, Purser has purchased a GN license, so I expect we'll see him at some events, just not all. Also, Diekmans and Stan Shelton have a RN/State license (per the website), and Shelton has a GN license for his TWD, so I expect we'll see both Diekman and Shelton at a few GN events as well. This is a little off topic, but whatever happened to Dave Richardson&by The Original Michael - Forum
Re: My experience in southern Indiana - 13 years ago
Last year, I went to a pull in Columbus, IN that ran 4 classes- I can't remember exact weights, but I believe they ran a 11,500 8mph, 13,000 10mph, 13,000 12mph, and 13,000 open farm. Due to some circumstances beyond their control, the pull ran late and I didn't get to stay for all of it. I will say there were several tough running 6030s from Indiana and Kentucky. Re: making pullin more interesting - 13 years ago
My understanding is you will never see an NTPA tractor class weighing more than 10,000lbs again due to there is not an SFI spec for the rollcage. I was told back when the Illinois Tractor Pullers Assn was still a part of NTPA, one reason they did away with their 12,000 PS class is there was not an SFI spec for 12,000 lbs.by The Original Michael - Forum

Ryan, I assume you have a computer and internet access. I have a simple request for you. Would you just post what happened from your perspective? That may clear up some things. It may create more questions in some people's minds. It may reinforce people's opinions one way or the other. lol. I'd say a puller that is trying to be a Type A cheater (competitive advantage) but whatever he does winds up being basically useless (ie- no competitive advantage), is just an incompetent cheater.by The Original Michael - Forum
3 Common sense ideas to improve the sport - 13 years ago
If you want to make it more interesting for the casual fan, here are some common sense things that would not involve structural changes: 1) Start on time. If it's supposed to start at 7, that means at 7 the green flag is out and the first vehicle is headed down the track. I cannot tell you how many pulls (both sanctioned and otherwise) that 7 means we start working the track, 7:20 or soby The Original Michael - Forum
