I would love to see the class be 6000pds. However, It's not going to happen. I do always think the weight debate is funny. When someone wants to add say 100pds, they will tell you "it's only 100pds". If you ask them to drop 100pds, then it turns into, "we can't give up that much weight". I have heard guys make the argument that the hook up better with more weight. Of coarse they ho

To Hot Farmer, I disagree with you. I do not feel they are underrated at all. I think the Hot Farm class is great. You are going to get good close competition every time. They do put on a good show. But they very seldom give you the "WOW" moment. I think the rules are great for the class. They need to leave them alone. Hot Farms work and are a great addition to most shows. But I don't feel t

Okay Collin, I have a serious question for you. On average, what percentage of rules that get passed hurt the class instead of benefitting the class? How many pullers that are pushing for rules changes are still running that class 5 years later? How are some of these rules that getting passed?

Sooo, there's a loaded question. My best recommendation is to start attending events and asking questions. There are so many things to think about. Are you planning on running for points with a club, what's your purchase budget, what's you maintenance budget, what's you travel budget, how much time do you have to work on it, amongst other things. Are you looking for something

To TripleAlphaProcess, I am with you 100% on your last comment. There should be something in place for training /education. Like you said, things just "work out". And as much as people are going to hate this, they need to enforce some things. You made the comment about guys messing with the throttle and gear box while being unhooked. It used to be and I believ still is that you had to have your ha

If you haven't seen it on Facebook yet, 1320 Video went to the pull in Wisner. And they say there is video coming. Why do I think this is a big posative for the sport? Because you just had a huge Youtube channel that focuses on drag racing, go to a tractor pull. These guys have some great photos and videos. The photos they have on Facebook of Wsiner are great! And it sounds like they enjoyed

I was at a PPL pull and we were wathcing the mods. When Steve Bunnage backed up to ths sleds, you could watch him pull the belts tight. When he was doing this the announcer talked about how drivers in the mod class had to pull their belts tight and how some other classes they did not. He expalined that because of the nature of the mods that it the was the reason for haveing to pull the belts tigh

What is a good reason for a sled reset? At an event this past week, there was a class of tractors where the test puller went 320'. They reset the sled because "they had the room to run". Then instead of loosening up the sled, it accidently got tightened up and the distances got shorter. The test puller is a good running tractor and made a good pass. So the sled at 320" should have been good,

To OH1979er, I believe your message was a reply in the topic I started called "Pros and cons of crossdressing". I agree with a lot of what you are saying. There are some things that I feel change how people view this. First, pulling has "clicks" of fan. Some guys like spark plugs. They are there to watch 2wd and pro mod trucks. Some guys want to see tractors blow smoke, they want the ProStocks, e

It was brought up in a recent post talking about Lt Pros going component that they shouldn't be able to run different sheet metal than the block. So let's really think about this. How good or bad is it. Let's start with the cons.
Cons:
-It's wierd. You want to paint your John Deere big block blue so the tractor looks like a New Holland. Why? Just build a Deere.
-And when

To everone wondering why the driver didn't slow down or wasn't watching the flagman. It's not that simple. Things hppen quick. At those speeds, it is almost impossible to watch everything. You have to watch 2 flagman, operate your clutch, throttle, brakes, try to read the track and steer accordingly, and pay attention to any mechanical issues you may have at minnimun. You are hooki

Brian Lively, you nailed it. I have sponsored multiple events and/or classes at local pulls. If I would sponsor a class and pullers freaked out over a sticker, my money would go somewhere else. People need to understand that regardless of the purse size, these sponsors are spending their money to sponsor an event/series. Now, I have seen some guys have the sponsors custom painted onto there tract

A good announcer is the best way. A good announcer can explaine to the crowd the key differences. They seam to do it in a way that the crowd understands. For me the bigger problem is the sled settings and what pullers want with them. A class like Hot Farm should never out mph a Prostock. And I don't blame the sled drivers. They are doing what everyone is asking them to do. But trying to expl

So I am not a gambler when it comes to spending money. Yes, when we go to watch dirt track races, we all pick a car to win and see who does best. That is about the extent of our gambling. If it doesn't cost me anything, I enjoy it. When Full Pull Bets offered to let you bet on Tomah and not cost you anything, I picked on some of the classes where I have friends running. I actually won the 2w

To everyone talking about these "open" classes that have a set of rules. Those are fine and I don't mind them. But look at 6030Puller's comment, "12,500 lbs, 20 inch hitch, 20.8 ags no front or v cuts, let her eat!!". Other guys saying 12,500 or 13,000pd classes. I would be shocked if those classes have much safety at all. And if they do, how much is enforced. Any "Open" class with a se

I will be the one to ruin this be saying I hate RWYB classes. You have to have a set of rules besides weight, hitch, and tires. At minimum you need additional safety items and if no additional safety equipment, a speed limit(and I hate speed limit classes). These classes always seam to get out of hand and become unsafe. A local club added one of these years back. They had a weight, hitch and tire

Sascha, to start. Thanks for all of the content you share and showing us what pulling is like over there. Thank you. I do want to know. How many events are there of this size and caliber each year? It's crazy to me the crowds you get and the size of the events is massive. Are these 2 day events or 1 day? What can you tell us about these events that works so well?

5% is the number to remember. After years of dealing with public, running companies, being involved with different organization, etc you will only get 5%. Let me explain. My company donated to a city project that was building a playground for kids with disabilities. When the topic gets brought up about this playground, 95% of the public will tell you why it's not needed, or cost to much, or

The BSTP Hot Farm class, in my opinion, should not be touched. I know multiple drivers in that class that run BSTP. That class can put a good show, with good numbers, good color, and close competition. I am all about posative changes for growing a class, but I really don't feel this needs to be changes. But say they do change it to 510, then how long before that 3x3 turbo isn't good eno

Soooo, I personally am not much of a gambler. And do have mixed feelings about it. I do however want to hear the idea out before I ridicule it. The little bit we know about it, isn't enough to make a claim that it is or isn't going to help anything. I understand why they announced it when they did. When else are you going to have that many pullers and the big 3 organizations at the same

100% pulling needs to be looked at as entertainment. And everyone involved needs to understand this. The product isn't bad, it's actually pretty good. I feel there are a fair amount of pullers that when they show up to an event, they don't think about the entertainment aspect. There just there to pull and to stay in the points hunt. When a venue or fair books an organization, they
