Can only speculate for tractors, but my experience In the Semi class, small cubes can’t keep up. Larger cubes keep a given turbo out of surge longer at the end of the track. Having said that, we’re using stock castings. In theory: same turbo, same head flow, spinning the little engine harder, should equalte. But I bet it won’t. My $.02

Im not trying to be ornery and Ive given you credit where you were correct, but you’re stating things that just aren’t true. Collins had a ton of weight saving tricks on that truck. Ultimately, the cab was a fiberglass reproduction, IIRC. working in a truck factory doesn’t give You the perspective of an engineer or end user. Do you know how much weight an air ride passenger seat ads, how much le

I wont dispute what you see crossing the scales at current NTPA pulls. But I respectfully disagree on the rest of your comment. I’ve owned and speced trucks for 20years. A 15k lb truck with a big block cat or cummins engine, 18speed trans, heavy frame, 46k rears doesn’t happen. My Mack with a puny 11L engine weighs close to 18k before I add weights. If it were a V8, or even a C15 Cat it would be

18K is too light for semi’s. A stock heavy capacity truck can weigh that much without all the safety gear. The class will be harder for a new guy to get into and heavier engine brands will be at a disadvantage (V8Mack, KT Cummins) enter a bunch of expensive light weight components. Keep it at 20K lower the hitch.

Make a common engine cube and tire size between Supers and Pros, so a pro could weight down, pull with supers for fun, testing, a second hook, or just to help the numbers. Fans would love seeing them head to head.

670 cubes, 26-3000RPM, 11blade G-trim HX82, 4" compressor. At what HP level does a 28CM housing become a restriction? Thinking of move up to a 32CM.

One thing that I believe is very distinguishable to the fans is engine RPM. A diesel going down track at 5k sounds way different then one at 3k. A 466 unlimited fuel and turbo would be a crowd pleaser in my opinion. A sleeper is another thing that gets a crowds attention. I have a junker that runs well, and I sold out of $1200 worth of t-shirts in one season at local events. Lastly, announcers do

Don't know the rule implications but, It's not a re-cast and it doesn't originate from Rocken. They are used on large engines manufactured and used overseas. I bought a couple and can buy them anytime. Ive only found them in 6 plunger versions though.

An E6 4v or E7 mechanical Mack will knock on the door of 1000HP pretty cheaply if you find one with a Robert Bosch pump.

If the budget is tight, 12mm's are abundant and will get you where you want to be. An 11 might go 500, but the window of injection wouldn't be as usable as a 12mm.

I've been wondering the same myself. I've oversped some turbos using KN and a Airad Raceday (screen only, no media) filters. This was at the 9-1200HP level. Somehow Esdon and some other supers are using some sort of filters mounted on the side of thier hoods.

Working out some gearing issues on a few very different pullers. (Tractor, semi, diesel pickup) All around 1000hp but peaking at different RPM with little wheel slip.
Whats the general relation of the power curve and the distance down the track?
Say I want 30MPH, should that be above peak HP RPM? How far?
How do I even determine my target peak track MPH?
I sincerely appreciate t
