Have it measure 14.9" wide also... How many farm tires are not as wide as they are supposed to be. We have some 15.5's that are 14" wide!

If you watch the video frame by frame, you can see a hole develop above the outer shields in the hood. My guess is that it went above the inner shield, missing it, and thru the hood.

What is the current rule for the inner shield, up to crank centerline?
Just my opinion (for what its worth from a fan and keyboard puller!!! lol), change the rule height to the top of the valve cover. Most modern hoods are fiberglass anyways, that isn't going to stop a projectile as shown in this case.
Kevlar blanket around the engine???

As a huge Hootman fan, I am happy to see a Ford get up there and stir the pot with those hard to beat IH's, and that he kept the front wheels under it this year too! lol

We run our 8000 in a horsepower limited class in 3rd gear, shifting the duel power down before the RPM's drop too much.
How much does yours weigh? Current horsepower? What size tires?
Just match the above questions to the local classes. Movable weight is your friend!

I know nothing about Case heads, but if the heads aren't efficient enough to "swallow" the increased air, then what's the point of a better turbo?
Save up and do both!

I believe the above post is correct. The select-o-speed is terribly slow, and the 8 speed is a bit fast.
I think the rear will take it, but the trans is too small. The input shaft is very small in diameter, plus, if my memory serves me right, its hollow to allow a pto drive to go through the center of it. Maybe someone can help me with my memory on that.

I would try giving Ron's fuel injection a call, and yes, a single stage is all you need. The mechanical pump is the way to go.

Awesome rule change in the 82 (or now 85)!!! I am always a fan of more color, as I hate the red and green parade.
Interesting change in the 57 pro-field....

Not that it matters anyway, but I haven't pulled in quite a few years, but I have been mud racing ever since. I am a fan of pulling and like to keep up with the sport. As I was saying in my post above, a lot of guys spend a lot of big bucks on their tractors (NOT MINE IN PARTICULAR!!!) so what is a few extra to keep their heads attached to their shoulders when the primary hitch breaks and th

I agree with the second hitch. If you are concerned with whiplash, a HANS device or something similiar will eliminate that. Probably not a bad idea seeing if the tractor suddenly dies and the sled slams the rear of the tractor, well, I think you get my point, we all have seen it before. I WILL NOT MAKE SHORTCUTS ON MY SAFETY!!! 125K on a tractor - whats another 800 on a HANS?

I have been using VP M1, its their base line methanol. I have been thinking of trying the M5, it costs more, but they claim its worth a bunch of extra ponies (mainly due to it having a bit of nitro in it)
