Fair and Reasonable Superstock Rules (originally posted on November 19, 2002) - 16 years ago
(originally posted on November 19, 2002) Ten years ago a Superstock was a Superstock and pullers could go everywhere they wanted, fans could also hope for a “surprise” national puller showing up at their local events. Now the class is a fiasco. Pullers have lost the ability to test and tune, support their local events, or promote the national circuit. Fans have lost the “surprise” factor on thby Jake Morgan - Opinion Archives
Fair and Reasonable 2wd Truck Rules (originally posted on November 3, 2002) - 16 years ago
(originally posted on November 3, 2002) Most of these rules are already in place in one organization or another, and some of these rules, one in particular is going to make some people irate. That one idea that has created controversy is: the body style rule. Back when the ATPA first initiated this rule I was against the rule as well as being against how the ATPA initiated the rule. Fair and Reasonable Prostock Rules (originally posted October 16, 2002) - 16 years ago
(originally posted October 16, 2002) The Prostock class does have its minor share of problems. It’s pretty much a Red vs. Green class. There are a few true Case and a few Massey, one Minnie Mo and One White but that’s not a ton of variety. The only reason for the lack of variety is the cubic inch limit. I’m not quite sure where the NTPA came up with 680, but it definitely seems like an extremeby Jake Morgan - Opinion Archives
Fair and Reasonable Superfarm Rule Changes (originally posted on October 4, 2002) - 16 years ago
(originally posted on October 4, 2002) Some of these ideas are going to be hard to swallow, and many of you are probably thinking “this is the fastest growing class in pulling and why would we want to change anything?” I’ll be the first to agree that this is one of, if not the, fastest growing classes, but much can be done to improve the class. The important question is: what niche was thiby Jake Morgan - Opinion Archives
Proposed Rules: Next Year and Beyond (originally posted on October 1, 2002) - 16 years ago
(originally posted on October 1, 2002) I’ve been holding on to a few new Opinion articles that I’ve written in the past months because I’ve felt that they were either too negative or the timing wasn’t just right to post them. So instead I’ve completely changed gears and I’m going to write about a topic that seems to be very relevant to this time of year: rule changes. Most organizations,by Jake Morgan - Opinion Archives
Hoseheads New York, Another Summer, Another Exceptional Show (originally posted on August 5, 2002) - 16 years ago
(originally posted on August 5, 2002) This summer has been a very frustrating season as a spectator. I’ve seen a number of sub-par events with only a few exceptions; The ATPA Grand American event at Arcola Indiana was one standout event, as well as the ATPA putting on a good show in Mercer Pennsylvania. There were quality vehicles at both events and very efficiently run shows. Unfortunaby Jake Morgan - Opinion Archives
2002 Winternationals Less Than A Month Away (originally posted on 12-20-01) - 16 years ago
(originally posted on 12-20-01) It’s hard to believe that the ATPA Winternations are only about a month away. The event may still be in it’s infancy but I’m expecting great things from the ATPA this winter. Last January’s inaugural event was one of the best first year events that I’ve ever attended. The fact that the event was an indoor event in the middle of winter was even more impressiveby Jake Morgan - Opinion Archives
ATPA Winter Nationals 2001 (originally posted on 2-9-01) - 16 years ago
(originally posted on 2-9-01) After approximately 4 months off from tractor pulling, and one weekend before the Superbowl it was about the perfect time to see some trucks and tractors go down the track. Luckily the ATPA added a pull to their schedule that rivaled the NFMS. I’ll be the first to admit that the National Farm Machinery Show is one of the premier pulls of the year and the ATPA Wiby Jake Morgan - Opinion Archives
Regarding the 1999 NTPA Rule Changes (originally posted on 11-22-98) - 16 years ago
(originally posted on 11-22-98) I am going to go through the new rule changes for the 1999 season and give my opinion. If you have a different opinion than I do feel free to email me, and I will post your mail on my feedback page. Now for my opinion on the 1999 rules. Roll Cages (originally posted on 10-24-98) - 16 years ago
(originally posted on 10-24-98) It's my opinion that roll cages should be mandatory in certain classes of pulling. Pulling is far too dangerous a sport without them. I feel that the safety rules and regulations have not kept up with the technology and the amount of horsepower that some of these tractors are making. So how do we decide which classes get the roll cages. I am not sure thby Jake Morgan - Opinion Archives
