I would agree with Lisa, I think all three are top notch announcers. We have been watching the livestream and its been great to this point. With the replays on each vehicle there is very little dead air time other than between classes. Dan and Miles are like on the spot historians of pulling and Leslie is also very knowledgeable about the pulling sport. I have really enjoyed it so far.

Really,
I had a post on the other thread about a similar thing. It would more likley be a fan that would try it influence the outcome of a class than a puller. Someone places a large bet on a lesser tractor in the class then walks the pits waits for an opening when no one is around loosens a fuel line and walks away 30 seconds later.
Do I think this will happen, no could this happen, yes.

Carlsson,
In the NTPA RN level the Allison rules were opened up several years ago to allow larger supercharger wheels. After the change we ran our two twin Hemi tractors against the Top Gun tractor with two Allison's. My tractor just missed the pulloff my wife's tractor and Craig driving Top Gun got into the pulloff. Craig ran neck and neck with us that night in Wauseon. I think if

It's odd but the first thing that crossed my mind as a puller is some devious gamber sabotaging tractors in the pits. Betting on a less competitive tractor then causing issues with the more competitive tractors. Yeah I know it's an unlikely scenario but not out of the realm of possibility. We as pullers don't really worry about leaving our stuff unattended in the pits. There ar

Supertiquer,
Basically everyone, Mike told me that the ring that failed was on the chassis when they bought it and that they never really looked at it thinking it was what it needed to be. The tractor has been all over the country going through tech with lots of tech people. Honestly it's just one of those things that slips through the cracks.
My tractors have the correct rings but

Brad Penn was changed to Penn Grade 1 a few years ago. Seems to be the same to me but some say it's different. We've been using it for many many years in our blown Hemi's with good luck. We also sell to several diesel customers.

JEide,
This subject was discussed about the NFMS pull several times. The general idea is that during the spooling up of the engine they put out a lot of raw alcohol and the fear is that something could ignite that unburnt fuel causing an explosion in the exhaust tube.

I heard a lot about them putting the IH head on because it flowed better but never heard anyone say that it was an overhead cam. But then I was just a kid spectator in those days.

HP,
Don Dean ran a set of 2255 Oliver planetary's for years and to my knowledge never broke any. He did change them last year because they were heavy and he wanted more front weight. I think the 2-180 planetary's were pretty much the same except they were inboard.

EFV,
I used to be a spectator back in the days of the Deere Harvester. If I remember correctly it didn't have an over head cam but it did have an IH head on a Deere block, hence the name Deere Harvester.

You reminded me of an experience at NFMS when Jerry Stuart ran we were sitting on metal folding chairs and you could quite literally FEEL the power that night! My wife and I had an interesting conversation after that run!!!
At the time Jerry was running two engines with big blowers and really had them tuned up so they were hammering hard...to the point that Jerry was changing some pisto

For me it was probably the Indiana State fair pulls in about the mid to late 60s...and I say probably because I'm THAT old!!! We were there every year showing horses but I would sneak off to watch the pulls when ever I could. I was amazed at the machines, the noise and which tractors did well because it wasn't always the pretty ones that ran the best. This was back in the days when the

My wife drives a twin Hemi tractor but she has always been an Allison fan. Early in our NTPA careers we ran against Ron's Allison's when he got them back for the second time. We became close friends with the Barga family...you will not find a better family.
Thanks to Ron for all of his efforts to make pulling better in both the NTPA and OSTPA. A very appropriate recognition of

Interestingly my wife Tarry's cousin ran an off road series for Lucas Oil that would have been very similar to a state or regional circuit in our pulling world. His roll was very similar to what Jon and Kristy do for PPL. That circuit was closed down about three years ago, it didn't go away but it did become smaller in both the number of events and payout I believe. Tarry's cou

I think you are correct that the visor being down is not mandated. The catch can is much the same, it was going to be mandated but then never got put into effect because with all of the alcohol fumes in the catch can it could explode if an engine were to come apart and throw parts though the can.
We have solved the visor fogging issue with ventilated helmets and a remote fan. We loo

Just a little glimpse into the brainwashed minds of the youngest generations. I saw an on the street interview with a twenty something male, his take on the environment...we need to do away with farming because they are the biggest polluters of the environment. This is what these kids are are learning in our educational system.

As puller we always want more money because it's expensive at this level. On the other hand I think I saw where the overall purse for this event was over $106,000. That's not exactly pocket change. When you look at the number of classes then the number of pullers in the classes remember that everyone entered got a check, there was no entry fee and most if not all of the checks were b

As a mod competitor in the region class I lean towards a floating finish as long as it is reasonable. We hook many many times during a summer on back to back nights if not three in a row mostly in the middle of the week. As an example two weeks ago we had 5 hooks in 7 days not to mention driving from Indian to Michigan to NY then back to Michigan. This schedule doesn't leave much time for m

Team Feiss was glad to have the the opportunity to hook at the famous Langford pull. The stifling heat aside we had a great time. Great track, great crowd, great chicken. We are glad we took the opportunity to make the trip. It is unfortunate that the numbers were down but it has been a difficult year with fuel cost as well parts being an issue for some (We are still waiting on rods

One reason it looks that way is because there are a lot of good tractors in that configuration. I still think a tractor like Scott Tedders would be dominant if it ran the whole circuit. We chose to run two because of the ease of changing classes and yet it is very competitive. When I first saw a tractor with two engines side by side up front I thought it would never work...I was wrong it works

The rules are that with three Hemi's you can run up to 8-71 blowers with 37% overdrive. With two Hemi's you can run 14-71 blowers at any overdrive (We run ours just under 70%). If you run three Chevy style engines you can run 8-71 blowers up to 70% overdrive if they are big chief style heads the overdrive is limited to 50%. We feel that the three engine Hemi setup is the combination wi

I just read a story today about a family that bought their daughter a 2014 Ford Focus EV it had 60K miles after about 6 months it started acting up. They took it in for service, they were told that it needed a new battery at $14,000 but the kicker was that the battery was obsolete and they can't replace it. So they have an 8 year old car they paid $11,000 for that can't be fixed...it
